I just ordered a couple of these sets.  In case you want to use these
in your own robot projects there are a couple people who have already
figured out how to make them work.  One in particular uses a $10 SX28
prototype board from Parallax to do all the decoding work and there is
an example program in SX/B.  For those of you that use the PIC chips
you should be able to use the example and convert it.  The link to

Instead of using the SX28 to just decode the signals the code could be
tweaked to allow for mixing (using a single joystick to drive) or even
add some extra features.
