The Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation is a non-profit
501(c)3 organization dedicated to inspiring and assisting girls and women in
Michigan to pursue technology education and careers. We do this by providing
educational programs and scholarships, as well as ongoing support as they
move through the educational system.
(2) Practice / Informational Sessions Scheduled for Thanksgiving RoboParade
Robofest veteran and rookie teams in Michigan are invited to join the
world’s first Thanksgiving RoboParade on Saturday, November 18, 2006. The
parade is an opportunity for students to show off their robot skills as
well as to form rookie teams. For additional details about the Parade,
please visit the Robofest home page at www.robofest.net. Video of a sample
practice parade during the 2006 MCWTF summer camp held at LTU can be found
at http://robofest.ltu.edu/movies/roboParadeMCWTcamp.wmv
Two 1.5 hour practice and informational sessions have been scheduled for the
RoboParade. The parade practice session dates are Friday, September 29 at
5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30 at 11:00 a.m. Teams who are interested in
participating should plan to come to LTU for one of these two practice
sessions. The sessions will be on the LTU campus. Room number is to be
decided, but you will find directional signs on campus. You do not need to
register for the practice session, but you will need to register for the
parade at a later date. (On-line registration for the parade will be up soon.)

(5) Robofest Seeking Site Hosts for 2007 Competition Season
Robofest is currently seeking site hosts for the 2007 Competition Season.
Qualifying Competition Sites are needed in March and April of 2007. Top
teams from each site will qualify to move on to compete at the World
Robofest Championships, which will be held on the campus of LTU on Saturday,
April 28, 2007. Robofest plans to have all 2007 Sites confirmed by October
20, 2006. Interested individuals, organizations, or schools should contact
Lori Birman for additional 2007 Site Hosting Information, LBirman at LTU.edu or
248-204-3566.
(6) Robofest is Seeking Sponsors for 2007 Competition
In an effort to keep Robofest a low-cost affordable contest for everyone, we
are seeking sponsors for the 2007 contest. If you or your organization is
interested in helping to support the important work of Robofest, please
contact Lori Birman, LBirman at LTU.edu. Robofest appreciates any type of
support, big or small. Robofest accepts both cash contributions and in-kind
services donations. Donations such as robot kits, printing, signs,
promotion, etc. are greatly appreciated. Please contact us if you are able
to support Robofest in any way. Robofest plans to print the promotional
posters in December; so in order to put your company or organization logo on
the poster, we will need sponsorship commitments by the end of October. If
a sponsorship pledge is decided before November 4th, your sponsorship will
be recognized in various ways during the first Thanksgiving RoboParade, too.
