How many here have bought Vex kits at the Radio Shack
Vex "clearance" sale?

Chelsea HS will be holding its first annual Vex Sumo contest
this September! <grin>  The planned date is Sat, 9/30/2006.

To debug the rules, (assuming there's no other YAAARC program 
on the table), I'd like everyone who bought a Vex kit to bring 
them in to the next YAAARC meeting.  Let's have a build session,
and see if we can start building and testing some basic Vex Sumobots 
based purely on the kit.  

Paul, could you also please bring in your sumo ring?  I'm not sure we'll
GET that far in one night, but it could be useful if someone does.
The contest Dohyo (ring) will be the International Standard size
of 154 cm dia (roughtly 5'-5/8"), but this would be good for basic tests.

GOAL: Determine WHAT weight and dimensions are "reasonable" for
a Vex Sumo class.  I'd like to prevent the need to chop up the metal 
to fit (if possible), and also have just enough weight allowance to 
promote creativity.

How's this sound?  Who here HAS one or more Vex kit(s) now, and 
how many can you bring in to the next meeting to try this?
