I have looked at that page several times over last couple of months,
and they were always out of the kits. But today they are taking
requests again!
The kit comes with a Butterfly, plus one (or is it two???) sample AVR,
and a CDROM. It says one in the description, but on the form where you
select sample, it says you get two of one kind.
The Butterfly has an ATmega169 on it. For the sample(s), they let you
pick from:
ATmega16 (40 pin dip, 32 i/o, 16k flash, 1k byte RAM, 512 bytes EEPROM, $6.56 at digikey)
ATmega88 (28 pin skinny dip, 23 i/o, 8k Flash, 1k byte RAM, 512 bytes EEPROM, $3.87 at digikey)
ATtiny13 ( 8 pin dip, 6 i/o, 1k Flash, 64 bytes RAM, 64 bytes EEPROM, $1.40 to $1.63 at digikey)
If you actually enter the contest, you could win up to $5,000.
They ask a lot of questions on the form, and it says that they reserve the right
to not send you one. Probably the hardest question to answer was: "Why should
we accept your request". Oh, that, and agreeing to not use kit to build any WMD's. :-)
