I've accepted a job at Nissan where I'll be doing vehicle telematics
which will be Linux based. I'm finally back to the software engineering
wages I was making back in '01 when I got laid off. I got a bit tired
of the system administrator gig, fixing stupid Windows problems.
Since my apartment lease is up in July, I've decided to move out to
Farmington Hills to be closer to the new job, the boys and their
schools. Chris won't be going to Pioneer as originally planned. Which
also dents my plans to be more involved in next season's FIRST
competition with the Pi Hi Samurai #1015.
I still plan to come out for YAAARC, but now I'm thinking of forming a
club up in Oakland county if there isn't already one. Any of you guys
from that area? Shall we get together to form a club?
Btw, I have a pair of 18" satellite dishes with a receiver. Might be
good for a long distance WiFi project or radio astronomy. If anybody's
interested, I'll bring those to the next meeting. Otherwise, into the
dumpster.
I also have a working mini frig sitting around that I won't be able to
use. Good for beer in that lab in the basement or garage.
