Dataq is offering a $25 data acquisition system kit.

See: http://www.dataq.com/gl/starterkit.htm

For any HS students entering Science Fairs, you MAY qualify for
a totally *FREE* data acquisition kit, to automate your project!

See: http://www.dataq.com/science-fair/sciencefair.php

For those that aren't familiar with data acquisitions systems:
They allow you to simply set up a science ezperiment, then let
your *computer* do all the work of fetching the data samples
*for* you, 24/7. Makes otherwise long term, boring, or tedious
projects a snap. <grin>

All you need in addition are the sensor(s) you wish to monitor,
and whatever massaging of the resulting data you desire for your
results (also automatable via spreadsheet, labview, etc.)

FYI, I'm a long time instrumentation person, so if any student
in the club wishes to do a Science Fair project, I'll be willing
to advise you on how to design and set up your experiment & sensors.
